I absolutely adored this wonderful and adventurous couple! I got to learn more about them when we did their engagement session at Wissahickon Creek in Philadelphia. They were such great sports walking through the creek with me to get some amazing pictures.
Melissa and James got married at Melissa's childhood house. It was a fall day with the perfect amount of colorful foliage. After getting ready, we headed to Bowman's Wildflower Preserve for first look, family pictures, and bride and groom portraits. Once we got there it started to sprinkle some but that didn't stop us! The best part is I had a whole hour to explore the grounds with Melissa and James. Melissa was such a trooper hiking in the woods with that beautiful wedding dress. I love the romantic pictures I was able to capture of them out in nature.
We then headed back to Melissa's house for the ceremony. At this time the rain really picked up but thankfully we were able to hold off a little and have the ceremony outside. They say rain on a wedding day is good luck anyways! Their bridal party consisted of Melissa's sisters and James' brothers and Melissa's brother played a song on the guitar while she walked down the aisle. After their intimate and heartfelt ceremony they celebrated cocktail hour and reception under a white tent.
After dinner Melissa and James had their first dance followed by dances with their parents. You could totally see the love they had for each other and their parents. It was so sweet to see Melissa tearing up while watching James dance with his mom. After that the party really got started while guests enjoyed beer brewed up by the newlyweds. Melissa, James, and their guests truly danced the night away and had an amazing night!
